  burton cromervice president of bbc direct, which is releasing the first season of the british sf series doctor who on dvdtold sci fi wire that the bbc made the unusual decision to release the dvd before the show had found a broadcast outlet in the united states.

  but he added that the show will find its way onto american tv one way or another.

  It was great to see Dr Who back through childrens eyes - namely my young daughters who couldn't get enough of the episode's. They were genuinely scared at certain points. Bit of a shame that Chistopher Eclestone had to give it up so soon, but David Tennant is a very good replacement having seen the xmas special. Good to see other sci fi/fantasy fans out there!

  Currently on ITV4 in the uk on sundays at 7pm is one of my all time favourite sci fi fave's as a kid...Space 1999 - its so very good I love it.

  for the DF'd: did you confess or were you ratted out?

  looking back at the 10 or so cases of disfellowshipping i recall, i think only 1 was due to the orwellian borg spy system.

  he was ratted out.. all the other cases were actually "confessions" by people that otherwise would have gotten away with it.

  i am wondering is these percentages.

  I think once one case of wrong doing is discovered, it often opens the door on other matters. For instance myself and my then wife and our friends were all brought before a JD because once one thing came out it linked to another person and the whole deck of cards came down. On that occasion only my friends wife got DF, the rest of us were reproved

  Did you "cry" when the JW's elders Disfellowshipped or Disassociated you?

  my niece who is 19 and involved with a "married" man had to meet with her jw's elders last week.

  she was terrified because the elders have told her time and time again to get rid of her "married" boyfriend but she refused.

  she is head over heels in love with the guy.

  No...but, another time I was in a JD where I got reproved, I literally broke down in tears over something because I felt so guilty. It was something that had been with me for over half my life and had made me feel so low and wrong, and when it came out I was so upset because of all the sins I had done and confessed that was the one I didnt know how to stop.

  It was really one of the first things that I began to disagree with the society over and from there on I discovered much more, that by the time I was DF I really didnt care for these power hungry people. I refused to meet them and heard on the grapevine that I was DF.

  I have to say for years I hadnt cried and when my first daughter was born it changed me, I am now very emotional and can have a tear in my eye when I watch movies for example

  Do you like wearing jewellery and expensive rings & watches?

  i never did like wearing a ring, or anything around my neck.. i have an ordinary timex 30$ watch, and that's enough for me.

  i like it simple for me anyways.... how about you?

  I've had two rings but just didn't get on with them so prefer not to these days. As for watches - yes I like them, though currently i'm using my (home strap repaired) £5 digital one. Its quite good in that it has a blue light to see in the dark and seems water proof! My ultimate watch is an Omega Seamaster.

  paragraph 13 asks, "what about performing a legitimate service, such as delivering mail everywhere in a community, including places that promote wrong practices?

  I used to service a photocopier for both the dubs (who incidently wanted it for free!) and another church, and the articles that sometimes came up did bother me a tad, and yet deep down I personally didnt see anything wrong in it, again they took Jesus kindly yoke and weighed it down with their constant attempts to set our christian consciences for us!

  i was raised a jehovah's witness by my parents who became jw's in the late '70s from field service.

  i'm still a jw but doing a lot of researching on the history of the wts.

  Hi and welcome to the forum as a poster!

  Its certainly good that you can discuss things openly like this! I would say that should the elders hear about this it would be considered apostate, not saying this from the view point to scare anyone, but are Witnesses really alowed to openly discuss and disagree with the FDS? Although it is your own Christian conscience, from the Society's point of view they should control it. So are they really so good and innocent and truthful when they could well disfellowship someone for checking out their faith for themselves? Is it still the truth when your forced to conform to doctrine that is fallible and changable as you have found out? This is a sinister side to the WTS, to disagree with them could mean shunning by everyone you know in it, thats certainly something I would think about and maybe tactfully approach your parents with?

  How often do you bathe?

  i heard something and i would like to know the truth so i'll ask this question..... how often do you bathe and change your underwear?.

  i heard that people from certain places don't bathe for days and only change their underwear when it gets really deteriorated.. .

  I shower everyday, occasional baths, new underware and shirt everyday. Some times at a weekend i'll not bother if i want to slob around that day (not seeing anyone though!)

  i just got off the phone with a customer from great britain....his accent was sooooo lovely!

  i'm trying my darndest not to melt out of my chair right now..... i swear...a british man could tell me he was going to clean the toilet and it would be hoooottt!!!!.
